Our pure linen collection is meticulously handcrafted in Lithuania from premium European long-fibre flax. Each piece is pre-washed and softened to achieve an exquisite patina and tactility that become more desirable over time and, if properly cared for, will offer many years of luxurious comfort.
(Q) How should I wash my linen?
(A) To get the most out of your luxury linen, always follow the care instructions on the product label. Linen sheets should be rotated, and it is advisable to have at least two complete sheet sets for any one bed for changeover. Keeping multiple sets on hand also ensures you have a fresh set ready to go on the bed at all times.
(Q) Can overwashing damage my linen sheets?
(A) Overwashing can damage linen and break down even the highest-quality fabric. A gentle warm machine wash is recommended with like colours. Wash your linen bedding separately from towels or clothing and avoid over-filling the machine so the product can move freely during the wash and circulate in the water; this also prevents damage caused by zippers and other fasteners.
(Q) Can linen be tumble-dried?
(A) We strongly recommend tumble drying our linen, at least partially. Linen dries more quickly than other fabrics, so the sheets won't need a hot or long dryer cycle. It can be tumble-dried on low to medium heat to keep your linen soft and maintain its texture.
As linen is a very loose weave, if it is subject to constant use and never tumble-dried, it is not given the opportunity to return to its original woven state, and the constant stretch over time will inevitably wear the item out.
(Q) How do I stop my linen from fading?
(A) To maintain the colour of your linen, we advise against using bleach or detergents containing optical brighteners, and to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight. We suggest using a mild liquid detergent such as Wool Mix on all of our linen products.
(Q) Will linen shrink?
(A) Our linen has been pre-washed at very high temperatures to ensure that, with proper care, no further shrinkage should occur.
(Q) Should linen be ironed?
(A) While our linens can be ironed, we do not recommend it, as our products are designed to be relaxed. Creases and wrinkles lend an organic tactile element – an imperfection to be embraced as part of the natural beauty of linen. Ironing at high temperatures may also burn the linen fibres.
(Q) How should I store my linen?
(A) Wash your linen and ensure it is completely dry before storing it to minimise the risk of discolouration and mildew growth. Choose an area that is cool, dry and well-ventilated, and receives minimal light exposure to avoid fading.
Leaving any material folded in storage for long periods will likely encourage odours. Along with ensuring you rotate your linen sets regularly rather than using the same set over and over, we encourage you to use all of your sets to keep them fresh. If you don't have a linen cupboard, choose a cool, dry storage area.
