A Note on Fitted Sheet Care

Fitted sheets experience more friction and wear than any other item in our bedding collection. As a result, they require a little extra care to preserve the natural beauty and longevity of the linen.

Rotate Your Sheets

We recommend alternating between at least two fitted sheets, just as you would rotate your clothing. Continuous daily use and frequent washing can accelerate wear, while regular rotation allows the fibres time to recover between uses.

Washing & Drying

Avoid overfilling your washing machine to ensure your linen can move freely and be thoroughly cleaned. Use a mild liquid detergent without optical brighteners.

We strongly recommend tumble drying your linen, at least partially, on a low heat setting. Linen has a naturally loose weave, and tumble drying helps the fibres relax and the fabric recover from the stretching caused by regular use. Without this, continuous tension and friction can contribute to premature wear.

Everyday Considerations

Natural body oils, moisturisers, lotions and fake tan can affect the fibres over time, particularly when combined with regular friction and washing.

The natural weave of linen can also be susceptible to snagging. Take care around jewellery, fingernails and sharp objects to avoid pulls in the fabric.

With a little extra attention and regular rotation, your fitted sheets will continue to soften and develop character while maintaining their integrity for years to come.
